Welcome, Emily!

AVLS Member Services & Administrative Coordinator

Emily Hornung graduated in December 2021 from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Advertising Art Direction. She has interned at Help at Home in their marketing department, and she has freelanced as a marketing consultant, as well. Some of her hobbies are collecting vinyl records, painting/drawing, cooking, and web design. She began as the Membership Services & Administrative Coordinator on April 11th, 2022.

What led you to choose this career?

My mother is a health professional who kept going back to school and continuously keeps educating herself. Hearing about her work made me realize how important it is for healthcare professionals to have a strong support system in their careers so they can focus on providing the best care possible.

What energizes you at work? What does a good day at work look like?

I am energized when I get to interact with members. It’s a pleasant reminder of all the wonderful work our members do and why it’s an honor to work with them.

What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute to your success and why?

I am a people pleaser, so I am always motivated to make sure our members our satisfied.

What is your favorite movie, band or song?

My favorite movie is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Although it just came out in the past few years, it’s already a classic to me.

Do you have any pets? What are their names and breeds?

I have one bulldog named Rosie. She’s almost 5 but still thinks she’s a puppy who can fit on your lap!
