How and why did you start practicing in the field of vein/lymphatic care?
I started practicing in the field of vascular medicine because of my father, Dr. Gregory Kezele, who has been a long-standing member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society. I recently joined him in the practice of vascular medicine, inspired by his expertise and dedication to helping patients with vascular disease. Working alongside him allows me to continue his legacy and contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of our patients.
How long have you been a member of the AVLS and why did you join?
I am brand new to the AVLS community and look forward to making connections with fellow members at the congress in Chicago this fall. I joined AVLS at my father’s recommendation.
In what way has the AVLS helped you as a vein/lymphatic care provider?
As a new Nurse Practitioner, AVLS has provided me with an excellent foundation through its resources, education and networking opportunities. I believe AVLS will be instrumental in supporting my growth and development as a vein and lymphatic care provider.
Any advice for your peers new to the field?
My advice for newly practicing providers such as myself is to seek mentorship from experienced practitioners whenever you can. Additionally, it is important to stay up to date on the latest research, guidelines and treatment modalities through organizations such as AVLS.
What resources does the AVLS provide that would benefit them?
AVLS provides many benefits to its members such as access to educational resources through congresses and publications to networking opportunities and clinical support.
When you are not at work, how do you spend your time?
Beyond my professional endeavors, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two-year-old daughter, and exploring all the family-friendly activities Cleveland has to offer!
